| Down 7-1 with defeat imminent, the Texas Rangers rallied for 6 runs in the top of the 9th to tie the game behind a 3-R HR from Juan Gone and a solo shot by Rafael Palmerio (2nd of the game). Dizzy Dean had an easy day, until he couldn't retire anyone in the 9th. Todd Worrell replaced Dean after Gone's HR, but 3 runs and no outs later, he gave the way to Izzy, who could not prevent his inherited runners from scoring. Onto extras we went. The Rangers plated 2 uneventful runs, both on sac flies in the 11th. Darold Knowles closed out the Cards in the 11th to preserve Texas' 9-7 win. |
